Suspects In Stolen Car At Large After Firing At Detective In Maryland, Police Say

At least one alleged carjacker fired shots at a member of the Prince George's County Police Department overnight, according to officials.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, police say that at least one person fired a weapon multiple time at a detective investigating a reported carjacking in Clinton.

The detective was unharmed, but his vehicle was struck multiple times, officials say. He did not return fire.

According to the initial investigation, the detective spotted a vehicle that was reported carjacked in Clinton, and at least four people were inside the stolen ride who bailed out of the vehicle after shooting at the detective.

Responding investigators canvassed the area, but were unable to find any of the suspects, who they are now attempting to identify and locate.

No arrests were made.

The incident remains under investigation.
